Joshua Belczyk is an Advanced Manufacturing and Organizational Turnaround expert. Educated in Environmental Science, Public Policy, and Economics at Harvard University with a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, he has spent his career at the crossroads of operational excellence, environmental sustainability, shareholder value-creation, and the development and diversity of his teams.
He is the founder and principal of Green Wave Management Inc., an ESG / Sustainability advisory practice focusing on complex, capital intensive industries such as Metals / Mining, Energy, Logistics, Automotive, Building Products, Real Estate, and Chemicals.

He began his career as an Environmental Engineer, tasked with bringing some of the world’s largest, most hazardous cleantech / recycling facilities into specification and compliance. His hands-on approach led him accept responsibility for the all aspects of the operations of the facilities and leadership of the teams, developing his management style and deploying lessons learned while he earned his MBA.
He further honed his financial and strategic analytical skills after joining the prestigious Turnaround/Restructuring team at FTI Consulting, advising industrial clients in critical circumstances from short-term cashflow to acquisition due diligence to macro-economic industry forces. From FTI, he joined Horsehead Holding Corp. as their first Director of Business Development, helping invest the company’s $180 million net cash position into growth opportunities. One such initiative was the sourcing and closing of the $15 million acquisition of Zochem, Inc, which would become one of the most accretive deals in industry history. He was then asked to lead Zochem’s ~$150 million P/L for the next five years, expanding and revolutionizing it to become one of the world’s leading producers of pharmaceutical grade zinc oxide, culminating in its divestiture for ~$70 million.
He then completed the turnaround and evolution of Toronto-based engineering and building equipment manufacturer Swedish industrial conglomerate Swegon AB. During his tenure as the P/L leader of the company’s largest North American division, he helped orchestrate the comprehensive turnaround from an EBIT-loss to double-digit EBIT margin and the most profitable year in the company’s 60-year history in 2020.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard University where he was letterman on the Varsity Football team and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. The former Student-Athlete is now a Corporate Athlete and an avid outdoorsman who enjoys distance running, mountain biking, SCUBA diving, cross-training and camping with his family and friends. A music and international food lover, he is always eager to celebrate wins and build relationships with teammates and colleagues.
